De Morpho Achilles wordt vaak verward met de Morpho Peleides. In tegenstelling tot de Morpho Peleides, die haast volledig blauwe vleugels heeft aan de binnenzijde, heeft de Morpho Achilles alleen een brede blauwe band aan de binnenzijde van zijn vleugels.
